What does the EC expect under FP7?
Further sources of help
In contrast to other leading research funders, FP7 is largely silent on the issue of access to research data. This is changing within H2020. Reporting requirements on ‘use and dissemination of foreground’ are available here: – see section 4.2.

  • HELP WITH COSTS? Help with costs for publication is available – for all FP7 projects Open Access fees are eligible for reimbursement during the lifetime of the project. There is no statement about data costs.
  • DATA DEPOSIT AND TIMESCALES: All files and documents have to be kept for up to five years after the end of the project for auditing purposes.
  • ACCESS AND DATA SHARING: No specific statement on data sharing – although Open Access to Publications was strongly promoted during FP7.

The European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) was the European Union’s Research and Innovation funding programme for 2007-2013.
