DMPonline is a web-based tool for building a data management plan. Oxford-specific guidance is available.

The tool offers templates for data management plans from the major UK funders, plus a generic template which can be used for any research project. Plans can be exported for inclusion in a funding bid, and shared with colleagues.

Guidance on completing the templates is provided. This includes advice from the Digital Curation Centre (who maintain the DMPonline tool) and from individual funding bodies. If you select the University of Oxford as your institution when creating a plan, you will also see guidance created specifically for Oxford researchers.

You can log in to DMPonline using your Oxford Single Sign-On username and password, but to do this, you’ll first need to register with DMP Online and link your account to your Oxford credentials. This is quick and easy to do.

For more information about this tool, you can watch DMPonline: Introduction and Basics (SSO login required), a recording of a presentation given at the Oxford Festival of Open Scholarship 2023.
