Data Speed Dating - Find Your Perfect Research Data Management Match

Join us in the Sheldonian Theatre on Friday 17 February and find your perfect match when it comes to storing and sharing your research data.

To coincide with the annual International Love Data Week the Sustainable Digital Scholarship (SDS) service, along with many other Research Data Management (RDM) support colleagues and services, will be on hand for anyone wanting to learn more about how the University provides love and care for its valuable data collections. 

This event will provide a valuable opportunity for Academic Researchers, Students, IT and Research Support teams, and any other interested parties, to be introduced to colleagues from the Bodleian Libraries, IT Services and Academic Divisions, who are responsible for delivering the various Research Data Management services and platforms used at Oxford.

Doors will open at 2pm, and from 3pm a series of speed presentations will commence, with each service providing a quick overview of their offering for any potential suitors (you!) in need of data management support. Full list of presenters below:

• Research Data Oxford
• Interactive Data Network
• Digital Scholarship @ Oxford (DiSc) & Data Visualisation
• Keeping data safe: backup and restoration (HFS, Crashplan, ITS) - Cloud-based backup service for desktops and laptops. Version control and the importance of having a data backup strategy.
• Research File Service (RFS) - Secure and resilient central storage facility for active research date. The launch of the first phase of RFS and plans for subsequent phases in 2023
• LabArchives Electronic Lab Notebook service
• Sustainable Digital Scholarship service -  Providing advice and access to a long-term solution for digital research projects for the storage, sharing, to sustain their research data.
• Open Science Framework
• Oxford Research Archive for Data (ORA-Data) - ORA-Data is the University's digital catalogue and repository for research data, managed by the Bodleian Libraries as part of the wider Oxford Research Archive (ORA). It offers a service to archive, preserve and enable the discovery and sharing of data produced by Oxford researchers. 
• Digital Preservation Service (DigiSafe)

The general format for the session will be in the style of an internal supplier exhibition, so do feel welcome to drop in for a chat with the various RDM service teams anytime between 2pm and 5pm.
