SharePoint Online

A collaborative online workspace that can be used for storing and sharing files.

SharePoint Online is part of the Nexus365 suite of tools. It’s a cloud-hosted Microsoft technology that allows groups of users to (among other things) interact and collaborate on documents and other files within a secure website. A SharePoint Online site provides up to 1 TB of storage space. Both members of the University and external users can be granted access.

Note: SharePoint Online became available to the University of Oxford in 2020. It is gradually replacing the older on-premise version of SharePoint. Existing on-premise SharePoint sites will continue to be supported for the time being, though site owners are encouraged to consider migrating their content to SharePoint Online, and any new sites should be created using SharePoint Online.
